ANyone ever hear of this type of snail. I seem to think it is a local name hung on the snail and its not the proper name, and the closest I have come to identifying it is its in the turbo snail family close to the chestnut turbo. The shell is shaped like a turbo snails, but then the color just does not match what is given for a chestnut turbo. The coloration on this snail is a deep orange, from the wide open end, gradually changing to a yellow when it gets close to the center of the tip of the shell..Looking at it pointy end up, it resembles a circle or yellow surounded by orange and does look like a cats eye........They are algae eaters, but are slow, yes a snail thats slower than a snail........but those jokers sure are slow, but they are not like regular turbos that when they get large are like bulldozers.......Any ideas on what the real name is would be appreciated......Only reference to a cats eye snail I came across on the internet searches wa a local snail out of austrailia...this snail is supposed too be from the atlantic reqion.
