Att Just went to the Gaussboys site.... the 30 mm x 6 mm magnets are round...
Are they the right one? I was thinking of something rectangular to accomodate the odd shape or the back of the Maxijet (where the triangle with succion cups fit)..

The magnets 30 mm x 6 mm have a pulling force of 60 lbs (according to Gaussboys specs)... Way too much IMO for a 1/2 lb Maxijet PH....
Your thoughts pls.... could I go with a magnet way less powerful?

If you mount a pump directly to a magnet then you will have vibration against your glass...
Google "mjmods" and go to the first site. They have instructions on mounting pumps to magnets without getting vibration or you could just buy one from them.
the ones I listed are the ones I used to mount my maxijet mods on my tank and they worked just fine.
As for too much strength...I dont think so> Like I said , they worked good for me, that's all I can say.
