Attaching gargonians

I need help to attach my gargonians, it does not come with any rock whatsoever. Right now it's just sitting on my lr. Will it attach itself?
If not how do I attach it? Or should I burry it inside my ls?
Btw swf.com names it as deep sea yellow gargonians.

I hooked the bottom of my gorgonians under some lr which keeps them in place. Medium to high current. One of them has the polyps open all day. The other almost never opens. It was a pain trying to hook them though. You can glue the bottom to a shell and hook it under some lr or into the sand. Because of the higher current it's tricky to keep them in place. Once established they look really great. They look like trees swaying in my tank.

I had the same problem. My lfs told me to drill a hole about an inch deep into a peice of lr. Make the hole the same diameter as the "trunk" of the Gorgonia. Next shoot a little super glue gel in the hole, and stich the Gorgonia in. HTH

Well yeah I guess I can do that, but I mean if I just leave it sitting on a piece of lr will it eventually stick to it?

You will need to scrape off the outer skin of the Gorg os just the stalk remains, I was told not to allow the SGG to touch the skin. Allow the SGG to just crust over (out of the water) then place the Gorg into the SGG it will be ok out of the water for about a min and it should semi set by then. I laid mine out in a small tub where no pressure would be put on the setting (in SW from the tank) for about 20 min and now is standing straight up and looks great.

So far Out on a Limb seems to have given the best answer. It is not a good idea to have super glue gel come in contact with the fleshy part of the gorgonian. If you combine this method with Volitan's suggestion of drilling a rock, and then gluing the gorgonian in place it will work just fine.
If you do not wish to use super glue, you can drill the rock, cut back the fleshy part. Stick the gorgonian in the hole, and then pack the hole tight with styrofoam. The flesh will grow back, and should cover the styrofoam. Try to make the hole fairly close in size to the stripped "trunk" of the gorgonian.
It will not attach good enough just sitting on a rock.
You may want to forget what I just said, I just read your post again, and realized that it is a deep sea yellow gorgonian. If there is a good area on the bottom of it with no flesh, (a woody area), I would super glue it to a rock. Make sure the 2 areas fit well together before gluing it. Make sure you do not get any glue on the yellow area. The above mentioned procedure works well for other types of gorgonians, but I have not tried it on the yellow or red types.
Best of luck.

Well out of the blue yesterday I found a hole on one of my lr and the gorgonian fits in perfectly. That should do fine, unless my power head blows too hard then it will fall over. Right now it gets most of the current but not that strong to tip it over :D . Btw do deep sea yellow gorgonians have tentacles coming out of its 'branches'?
Thanks,

All of the yellow gorgonians that I have seen do have polyps that extend from their branches. They are filter feeders. I hope yours does well, and I am glad you found a place for it.

Kelly I haven't seen any polyps out of its branches. Does it take time for the polyps to extend out? It took my star polyps a week before it opened up. Thanks so much for the help.

It may take a little time for it to get acclimated. Do you have it in a spot with a fair amount of current? Here is a link for a pic of one... http://atlantisaquatic.com/images/sm_yellow_gorg3495.jpg
