attaching yuma mushroom to rock

hey,
i've tried to let a young yuma mushroom just attach itself to my rock in my tank by simply sitting there, but it always gets swept away. i bought the mushroom at the LFS and it wasn't attached to anything except sand...
so i used a rubber band to (as loosely as i could) tie it around a desired rock... i dont have any mesh and honestly i'm too lazy to go find some just to make the mushroom attach. do you think this will work? how long does it usually take? i'll post a pic shortly.

you could let it attach to some sand in your tank and then glue the sand to a rock. you need a small container and you can put the sand in the bottem of the container. put the container directly into your tank and make sure that it doesnt get a lot of flow. in about a week your shroom should be attached to the sand and you will be able to glue it to whatever rock your heart desires.
i did this with some of my kenya tree and i have about 5 seperate frags now.

I did exactly this. I tried rubber bands and mesh, neither worked. What did work was a small tupperware, a piece of mesh rubber banded to the top (to keep snails/fish out), and placing it in the back bottom corner of my tank where it didn't get any current. I put some LR rubble in the dish, the mushroom on top, and waited 7 days. Then it was attached to some rubble, I glued the rubble to a larger piece of LR, and walla, all done. Good Luck!

Sorry about your yuma, Just so you know the next time that you get a mushroom that wont attach all that you need to know is there are a few ways to get them to attach. I have never been successful with glueing mushrooms to rocks. I dont think that they can attach to the sand bed either unless it is Crushed coral.
The way that I would reccomend is by getting some rubble in a plastic tuperware bowl. then get some bridal veil and rubberband that over the top of the bowl and you will have an attached mushroom in a few days or a week. Dustin
