I went to move one of my powerheads today and noticed a rust stain on the glass. Further inspection shows that the edge of the magnet (inside tank) is rusting slightly. I'm guessing I should take it out? Is it possible the superglue gel ate at the coating?

did you damage them when seperating them? i know that one of my magnets outside the tank is damaged from one of the other power head's magnets.

I took them out. They all had them which upsets me b/c it was such a great idea. Probably should have tried silicone. The glue must have eaten the coating, idk?

It says on the tube of glue that I use that it will consume certain plastics and epoxy... I dont know what kind you used.
i used silicone on mine and so far no problems, plus a big blob of silicone cuts down on vibration noise.

Trial and error right? Thanks for the tip I'm going to order a few more and silicone them. Problem is I cut the suction cup cradle and glued the magnets to it. Should I silicone the magnet directly to the pump's housing?

I haven't done this yet but, I would glue (silicone) it right to the housing. The silicone will peel off if you need to replace it or do what ever to it.
