ATTN: D.C./NOVA/MD Anyone looking for a Hippo Tang?

A place (not sure if I should be naming names) has a 2-2.5" hippo that looks healthy, but not sure for how long. About 3 days at store at this point. I would love to "rescue" it before a too new noob buys "Dory" just 'cause. Wish I could get it myself, but tank size and enough fish prevent such a venture. I just thought I'd post this for anyone who may have the tank and desire for the fish. A very nice looking fish, I'd hate to see it pass on from un-natural causes. Post an e-mail add. or e-mail me jscot71@cox.net. Fair warning...I visit this site more than I check my mail. Oh yeah...I believe the price was around $50, but not exactly sure.

its a nice act but up here in d.c. they sell at least 2 "dory's" every week to little kids its sad
so it is sort of useless :(

I was just complaining about how hopeless it is to save the poor "finding nemo fish" from being purchased by people that don't know what they are getting into

Cool, in light of certain threads, guess I'm a little defensive. Just thought I'd check. Where are you in the area, reefer44? We must frequent diff. stores, 'cause I rarely see a small, healthy looking hippo.

Yes, pricey is a good word for this area. The few LFS' that I frequent in NOVA all have like one good thing about them. One has good prices on most of my month to month needs, but customer service is terrible, another carrries better equip at hi prices, but good service, another smaller one has decent stuff, but a little hi also, but excellent service (always got sound advice and helped me get started--"You should read this book first.") Wouldnt buy fish from the first two, maybe some coral if I could afford it; the last one I'd feel safe with anything and hes the only one that will take trades. And, of course, a couple Petcos that I try to help other people looking at saltwater...as descretely as possible. Havent ventured into MD/DC for anything, prices would have to be good for me to go that far.
We have found just about everything we need from this site or shopping around the area.

Figured as much, dont think we have any room in the tank for anything else anyway...except for the pulsing xenia that we really want.
