I finally got my skimmer and let me tell you iy was the best use of 400 dollars on my tank (besides my ca reactor) that I can think of. I was wondering at what level do you keep the riser pipe. All the way up? down? or in the middle?

I am using the Euro-Reef skimmers also, I love mine.
Start the unit with the riser tube all the way down, as the unit settles you will need to slowly raise the tube up. The top of my rise tube usually sets right below the bend in the unit.

Yup...I agree the cost is a good investment. I'm glad you are pleased with yours. I'd also suggest that you start with it down and gradually lift it until you get the consistanty you like. Mine is close to fully up...but I prefer a thick skimmer scum. Sometimes it'll need to be adjusted a bit...but not much. The key is to "dial" it in to where you like it. EuroReef is definitely a quality product that is well worth the money.

THanks for the input. So the higher the tube the thicker the scum is? I would think it would be the other way around.
