Beth, clairification please :D

Yes, I didn't mention/clarify that. Beth already did now anyway. :D And yes, like Beth, I also get a huge kick out of using my refractometer....LOL

I use Oceanic but I have a little different way to mix it. I use my cordless drill with a paint mixer on it. It works great and adds a lot of airiation too. You can mix it fast that way with no calcification. After I get it mixed up I throw a powerhead in the bucket and let it run for a few days to age.

I swapped over because the Oceanic is cheaper and easier to get. The IO cost me about 35.00 for 150 gals box and the Oceanic is about 45.00 for the 200 gal pail.

Petsmart near me sells the 90g container for $45. I had it on the counter and when he rang me out I said that can't be right. He walked me to the aisle, it was right, they were just gouging on the price. Next time I'll mail order a bucket. At $80 a bucket, I could pay shipping over 4X.

I like using the jugs. Salt stays fresh, and you can easily pour the salt.

I thought the point of this step was associated with Ph right?
Isn't the Ph on freshly mixed oceanic pretty much where it should be?

I pay $29.99 at Choice Pets as they match Petsmart price for Oceanic(90G). Its not on their website, but when I visited the local store they had it for that price. Since Choice Pets is closer to me, I buy it there. Great deal! But I like the stuff.
