i should have clarified myself. by all-american, i meant that they (all 3) were made in america. obviously, the parts are made scattered about the globe.
'All' three only have a couple models that are built here. Mostly because they're too and big bloated for sale elsewhere. Their Pick-ups/SUVs (which aren't selling well anyways) and the Camry/Accord, which what would be tough sales for them back in Asia or Europe.

I have to say, bailing out the auto industry is the dumbest thing congress has EVER done, and they've done some pretty dumb things (like funding the bridge to nowhere).
Hell no! Bailing out the banks you mean!

Heard Ford is going to say no thanks.
I'll believe when I hear it. Ford was one of the Big 3 that were crying the blues about going broke. Why would they go back on their word after all the crying & whining they've done during the Congressional hearings ?

Because it would be good business sense. They could use their refusal to boost sales by advertising they didn't accept tax payer dollars..

Just heard the bailout died because the UAW wanted to wait until 2011 to cut wages.

Good, maybe when some lay offs or closings occur even more they will figure it out....when your average hourly employee is making 85 dollars an hour it is a wonder you can even maintain your business. Toyota's average hourly employee is 45 an hour. Do the math on why some companies are going bankrupt and others aren't when they are selling close to the same amount of vehicles world wide.
