Honestly, I don't know. Mine was in a fish only tank.
Be on the lookout for declining signs of your fish's health. I had mine for what?...a month?....it was perfectly fine the entire time. Then, it stopped eating one week. By the end of the week, it was no where to be found. Another week later and I finally started moving rock and found half of it's body, between a 30lb rock and the back wall of the tank.
I didn't expect it to live, as they have a bad survival rating, but I sure wanted to make it work.

well i think mine has ick. it eats fine and acts really healthy. one day it has some tiny pin point white spots. the next day it doesnt. today it did, but now it doesnt, one a couple on its rear fin. maybe i should just get rid of it. but i guess now ick is in my tank if thats what it has...so well see.

That's exactly what mine did, as well. I was going to start hypo, but every time I'd start to do it, the ick was gone. It took only a week for everything to completely downhill.

Quarantine, if possible and start hypo ASAP.

im going to do that and use kick ick on the dt because all those fish look ok.. how does that sound?

I wouldn't put chemicals into a DT unless its a smaller fish-only set up. But maybe that's just me. If you can yank him out of there and treat in a QT, that's what I'd do.
