Has anyone used these pumps?

I saw one on ---- listed as a MD55, thinking it was a iwaki md55rtl and wrote the vendor about it. The vendor said they are as good as iwaki and as quiet. Magnetic drive with a ceramic shaft. I know you get what you pay for. They aren't UL listed and don't have run dry protection. I would be using the pump to run a large skimmer. Would you go with a mag drive for that price range or spend the money on a iwaki?
