Teresa - these are amazing - really inspires me to set up a horse tank. I wish we could have made a swap - I would build you a fry horse tank to your specs for 3 or 4 llittle guys (negotiable). We can talk if want to PM me. Thanks good to see the babies doing well - you are doing a great job.

Wow, what a change. There is nothing more magical to me than seahorses, I have been fascinated since I was a child.
I will try and get some photos on my new batch as well, I have an interesting color morph going that I have been able to reproduce through mulitple generations.

I raise dwarfs so I doubt I will be much help to you. I have had my own "line" for a while and they are pretty durable, indestructible little guys. I have around 40 adults and about 100 fry in various stages of growth right now.

nice, You should start a thread and show them off. last yr I went with my daughter on a field trip collecting off Pine Island. We caught a couple huge Dwarfs. I was so tempted to bring them home, but left them to fill the mud flats with more baby seahorses. LOL I do like dwarfs, but really hate hatching brine and still havent gotten the hang of enriching.
What do you use to enrich??

I used to use marine snow, but, then I tended to have more issues with water quality and losses. I hatch two batches a day and feed any excess to my fish or give them to my lfs.
I'm winding down a bit, I rehomed over half of my adults. I have a system that works and the babies keep coming (as you know) and you can easily get overwhelmed. Before I moved to MA, I had over 1000! Talk about hatching alot of brine. I became a slave to it and really lost the enjoyment factor. I stock four of my lfs's with captive born stock. They are hardier and hopefully, help to keep the wild populations from being collected.
I was out with the collector when my original group of 20 was caught. I do go to a collector friend now and again and add some new blood in for genetic diversity.
