Mexico Baby declared dead revives inside coffin

MEXICO CITY — Authorities in Mexico say a newborn baby girl declared dead by doctors revived inside her coffin during her wake.
Hidalgo state Attorney General Jose Rodriguez says the parents heard a strange noise coming from the tiny casket. Opening it up, they found her crying and very much alive.
Rodriguez told state public radio Thursday that the doctor who pronounced the girl dead at a hospital in the town of Tulancingo is being investigated for possible negligence.
The baby, who was born prematurely Monday, is in stable condition at a different hospital.

I've never fainted before but I probably would have it I was attending this wake. Just glad the baby revived before being put 6 foot under or cremated.

That was really odd, a bit scared when I read the title
but did the baby didn't move when they put her in the coffin? If they didn't hear the noise the baby will probably die from suffocation and starvation!

Miracle or negligence?
What do you think?

and what about embalming?? This whole thing sounds strange. If you think about the day the child was declared "dead" she was sent to a place to be prepared for burial. Not ONE single person in the day or 2 after her birth saw she was alive??

Preemies are often not viewed... or embalmed. I can't think of one that was, actually.
It was a micro preemie.... they really can look dead. They can take very few breaths and still live a very long time. It is absolutely neglect, but if you saw what I saw it wouldn't be such a far fetched story. You're picturing a term or an average preemie.... these little fighters are totally different. I had a situation kindda like this. We actually kept "pronouncing" the baby.... it was a horrible horrible HORRIBLE experience.
If they live, they will have severe damage after this.

I call it beating the odds, for sure....
There's a picture of her on the ABC news website. She looks about a pound and a 1/2.... probably less.

I wonder what the protocol is for a viable aged baby over there. Did they put her in the morgue? Maybe that helped a little..... we are looking into cooling caps to reduce a baby's temp enough to help with things like brain damage. I'm actually very excited about this advancement. I figure we better get it now before the healthcare reform kicks in.

Renee....I don;t know how you do this....When my son was in NICU at 2.8 lbs...he was big compared to babies like the litle Mexican girl pictured.....so sad.....It was soooooo hard to be in that unit, and scary too.....I have a LOT of respect for you

Read an article in my morning newspaper that the baby died AGAIN of asphyxia last night. Hopefully this other hospital will CONFIRM its dead this time.
