i bought a baby hippo tang, had him for three weeks so far.. he is an animal, eats like a pig and gets along w/ 2 chromis... this hippo's body is the size of a nickel or a tad bigger..
right now he is only in a 10 gallon, and i would like to introduce him into the 70.. but i have a hawian puffer, perc clown and yellow tang in there... think they will bother him? as of now they all do great and swim by each other.
thanx guys

I would think the yellow tang might beat him up. I heard yellows dont get along with smaller tangs...

i heard the same about yellow tangs mine tried to kill a niger trigger i put in. i would just wait till the hippo gets bigger. u do know most people on this site would flip cuz u put a tang in a 10 gallon and plan on putting it in a 70 gallon, most of them wouldn't put a tang in a 100g but it all depends on size and what u want to do i think it will be fine in the 70g when it gets bigger.

i know, lol.... i keep um healthy though, this guy is so happy, u have to see him... i may put him in next week and rearrange the tank... to tell you the truth, i'm more worried about the hawian puffer bothering him

I dont agree having a tang in a 70gal period...but reguardless i have a large yellow tang in my 125 and a blue hippo in the same tank about half the size of the yellow tang...and they get along just fine...actully they swim together :) ...my tang does like to bother my copperhead butterfly though :(

Dont put the blue tang in with the yellow tang till the blue one gets bigger the yellow tang will hurt it!

Yellow tang can be pretty agressive. It all depends on the fish though. I added a small bicolor angel to my tank 4 months after my tang. The tang bullied him for about 2 days but now the angel is in control.
