Baby True Perc Getting PICKED ON

Ok sooo i jus got a new clown fish today i already hav a false perc n i jus got a new true perc soo i put him in the tank and seems to be doing fine. Hes about half the size of my false perc and smallest fish in my tank. Besides getting tailwhipped by the three striped damsels, hes been standing his ground but the false perc bit and grabbed him once earlier when i first released him and that was at 11am. So it was going good since then untill about 5 min ago when the false perc bit and grabbed him again... should i be worried?

Could be one of two things:
1.False perc is diplaying its dominance and it will work out
2.The flase perc is going to kill it for invading it territory or some other reason
its open for interpertation though

i hope its choice one he is about double the size of him lol do u think if he lasts the night hell hav a chance? if anything im gonna get rid of the 3 three striped damsels if things get two crowded cause i hav alot of fish in this 55 gal.
-lunare wrasse (4-5 in)
-false perc
-3 three striped damsels
-blue spot shrimp goby that is totally docile and doesnt bother anyone
-hawian blue puffer(hes new too) stays in corner and minds his own biz
-and the baby true perc (which i named Kid Cuddy lol)

Personally i dont like damsels because they get agressive to any fish that is added later, no matter how large the fish you add is
dont know enough about puffers to comment
lunare wrasse like to eat fish...i doubt youll have the damsels or clowns for long but i could be wrong
shrimp goby is no worry

well the lunare wrasse kinda hides under the rock all day and only comes out to eat but he rele doesnt even bother the fish i nvr saw anything from him.

th elunare wrasse will get agressive and without out a doubt kill most of your tank mates and outgrow your tank soon
they grow up to 10 inches so i suggest you get rid of the lunare wrasse

udate on the clown... he is no longer being bothered by any of the fish but he is chillin out at in one of the corners looking up at the surface kind of swimming upwards then hell swim away and go right back to the corner. Is this normal cause 10 min be4 he started doing this he was exploring the whole tank lik crazy. lol

Im fairly certain that you cant keep 2 different species of clowns in the same tank. But I would think your tank is big enough so they wouldnt bother eachother much

so I guess my info is of no help at all haha

Update: Both fish survived the night

and when i came home from my friends house i found nemo (the false) and Kid Cudi (the baby true perc) sleeping right next to eachother. For preggose the puffer hes swimming around lik a cloud in the sky being boring lol but i love him

yeah thats true but false percs and true percs are almost the same. i had a pair once the female was a false and the male was a true. they can pair up but they might never breed(but there is a small chance that they can breed).

I agree with the above comments: 1.) The damsels are a pain and will (probably) eventually make you figure out how to remove them. 2.) the Lunare Wrasse grows too big for a 55. These fish get big (10") and aggressive. The smaller the tank, the nastier he is likely to become.
On the main subject; clowns of different species seldom will tolerate each other, especially as adults in a fairly small tank.

how old is your clown or how big is he cause he looks like an ocellaris to me

.Either way it's a dominance display that your clown is exhibiting, just showing the new guy who's boss.How are they doing now?

As these fish mature, both will probably become females and only one will survive (long term). I know there are exceptions, but adult clowns ,of different species, rarely tolerate each other---its more than just a dominance thing.

Perculas and ocellaris have been paired before and mated in the past,check out photon clowns they are a mix of b@W ocs and perculas.

You're right. But for every two separate species of fish that pair off; I'd bet the farm that dozens don't. If someone wants to try this, fine. Everything in this hobby has been done by someone with some ( usually limited) success; but to think something will work, because it worked for someone, just isn't the kind of advice I look for. Tigers & Lions have mated and produced offspring too.
