So interesting...how did you do the decor, and all in those bold, bold colors? Such an interesting fish, it looks bit like what Saxman has. He and his wife likes those unusual critters as well.

LOL...I'm glad I wasn't alone thinking it was a scorpion fish...he said it's a frog fish, I like the look...it's so different, and it's all in my favorite colors. I would like to know what material it is. I bet my seahorses would brighten up if I had colors like that.

It's glass, supported by an egg-crate frame and plastic ties.
BTLD is exactly right - these guys are amazing mimics that change color wildly - and having the brightly colored perches and backing brings out the best in them. Flower, I actually first started using colored glass with Kuda seahorses to bring their colors out - one of the males that arrived black turned into an intense yellow with the glass (and would change back from yellow to black and then back in a matter of minutes while mating). It's definitely not a traditional look, but you can do a lot of cool things with it.

How's the algae issue with that? I'm intrigued by this considering I'm thinking of getting back into horses.

Yep, colored glass. I don't have too much trouble with algae - I'm only using enough lighting to make the fish look good (no corals, etc) and I have it set up so it's very easy to pull the glass out and rinse in the sink once every two or three weeks. I'll be curious to see what you come up with if you try it!
