Back up power question

Hello,
like many unfortunate people I lost everything in my tank during Sandy.
I am looking into buying a generator for my house (for emergencies).
I don't anticipate another Sandy but power out for few days in the freezer weather is very realistic.
When I am checking for wattage, I am clueless how much does my tank need.
It's Fish Only 54 gallon.
Fluval 305 Filter
Aqueon Coralife 05609 Aqualight Dual Linear Strip T5 Aquarium Lighting
2 Powerhead
Heater
I am looking for Generac 5500 - hope it's enough for Fridge, Furnace and Fish Tank

I ran a generac 5500 (6250 surge) during Sandy for 12 days. I powered a 220 gallon tank, all pumps and tank heaters and skimmer, my gas furnace and hot water heater and 1 light circuit on each floor as well as the refrigerator and microwave in the kitchen. I didn't use all that at once, but I had no problems.
