background color

I know this is personal pref. but what does everyone have as a background? I am looking for what colors look best. I have always used rock or plant backgrounds on my Freshwater tanks, but now w/ salt i dont want that. I currently have black but often wonder if something else would be better.
opinions??

I actually found a vinyl backing that has kind of a bubble pattern. TBH it kinda looks like a shower curtain, but on the back of the tank, it looks pretty cool. It is down for cleaning right now though.

I like the way black looks. I did see some clear dark blue backing at the lfs that looked kind of cool as well.

I use black, because it hides the overflow and the heaters. Can you see them? Exactly.
Plus it will make the colors in my fish "pop."

seems like everyone likes dark colors. I was thinking black to make colors pop out as well....i just rarely see black in fish stores (usually light blue) so i was just seeing what others thought

I have black also. it seems to make everything rocks and fish show up really nice. if you are only seeing the blue, check the back of it. mine had blue on one side but when i unrolled it at the store, the black was on the back! morons at the lfs didn't know the black was on the back. they told me they didn't have black! it also hides my powerheads and skimmer

I didn't use a film on my tank, can of spray paint did the job, and I don't have to worry about it pealing off. Took about three coats, but it turned out nice. Very cheap way of doing it, but if the tank is already full I wouldn't recommend it, go with the film instead.
