i have a 55 gallon that i'm turning into a reef...it's been fowlr for more than a year.....my question is that even though the backdrop is blue...it is covered in coralline......my gf wants me to start cleaning it...since it is sumpless, the equipment is in the tank so the coralline kind of blends the equipment in so i like the coralline....is is actually benefiting the tank or should i just wipe it off.........should i do a little at a time or clean all at once ....what do you guys think

I personally like to scrape the coraline off the back of my tank because I like the contrast of my reef against the black background.

I don't have any background... so I like the coraline. I dream of the day when I have a coraline filled background.

I have black background and I wipe it clean where I can reach. I say do what you like if its your tank. After 24 years of marriage I lost every room in the house and even the garage. All I have that is mine are the tanks!

Would make a good bumper sticker or shirt.

The back glass can be hard to clean, and coraline is even harder. I say limit the disruption to your tank and just leave it.

I like it clean. Makes the tank look cleaner in general. I use a razor blabe on a wood dowl. Takes 2 minutes to get it like new!
