backgrounds

just wondering what people use as backgrounds for their tanks..i think i might just go with a plane blue background..i have nothing on the back now..is it necessary to have a background?let me see some of urs/

mines just black, came that way, its not nessicary.

I used mirror for my 125 reef tank, it makes it look bigger. My 320 came with a black back. I have a 200 tank built into a wall that I put blue wallpaper with a bubble pattern on the wall behind the tank(looks ok).

we've always used the background that's blue on one side and black on the other.

I use black also. The main reason we mostly use dark backgrounds is that they add depth and make the colours of the fish stand out better. A dark blue would also do the same thing. It is just a matter of preference.

I have my 38 that I painted blue.
I have my 120 that has a black piece of fabric taped to the back
And my 450 acrylic is also painted blue.
I like the blue. I may paint the back of the 120 blue also and remove black fabric.

Why i dont like blue and other colors except black is, they make the tank look very comlicated and black background w/ white sand makes the fish colour much more better
