I broke my 20 that I have had for 34 years now durring a recent move. I'm rather attached to that tank, so I removed the frame and cut it apart with a razor blade, got a new piece of glass from a glass store and but it all back together with silicon. I filled it up outside to make sure everything was good, after 24 hours I was satisfied and put it back in full service. Since I saved myself the expense of a new tank, I used that as justification with my wife to upgrade my lighting system. (She doesn't know that the lighting system cost 10x that of a replacement tank:D)

Generally shipping tanks, glass or acrylic, is far more expensive then a local purchase due to the bulk of the item, and the general need to go through a common carrier...expensive. After you add the shipping cost, it is cheaper...plus you dont have to worry about someone breaking it while it is going through the system.
