Bad Info on Min tank Size

So it is late at night and I am bored, so like most people I was surfing the web and went to a large fish store site - this fish store is located in Lancaster PA for those that may know of the store I am speaking of.
On this site in the MISC fish section
Here is what it said:
Species Profile:
Common Name: Barracuda Scientific Name: Sphyraena barracuda
Origin: Atlantic and Indo-Pacific Restricted: No
Diet: Carnivore Max Size: 78 (inches)
Water Conditions: Compatibility:
Tank Size: 200 (gallons) * Reef Safe: No
Temp: 74 - 82 (Fahrenheit) * Invert Safe: Yes *
S.G.: 1.020 - 1.024 * Community Safe: No *
pH: 8.0 - 8.4 * Venomous: No
Difficulty: 5 (scale of 1-low to 10-high)
Ok so here is my question - How can a fish that can reach 78 inches (6.5 ft) be considered ok in a 200 gallon
This is so sad - why would someone even write something like that for some begininer to think it would be cool to have a Barracuda in their tank

Yeah that's terrible. I know what store you are referring to as well.
On a related note, Atlantis Resorts in the Bahamas has 10-15 Barracudas in one of their many tanks down there, but they give them quite a suitable home at 3 million gallons, lol.

i know the pet store and have been there many times, they have good stuff there and there prices are really good. last time i was there they had a baracuda probably the same one. they should be not alowed to collect because people stick them in a little 55 gallon and think its enough because they are small at the time they get them, they grow huge and fast

Barracudas shouldn't be kept in aquariums. These are one fish that need SWIM ROOM. The babys can be kept in a 200gal but when they start getting big, dont start thinking about upgrading, start thinking about the ocean.

The store is That Fish Place. I really like the store and everything that has been said above about it is correct. I was just there yesterday picking up some salt.

yeah i was there and dropped 800 with ease. prices are the cheapest on salt i have found, io for 32 and -- for 36 and yes for someone that has a large enough aqaurium for the wobby, i wouldnt buy that shark if i had that size aquarium, i would go with one like yours, either a brown banded, port jackson or a horn.

Ok I was playing with a volume calculator online and I figured out that you could have a barracuda in a 200 gal tank. It would be 80" by 80", and about 7 " deep.
How does that grab ya? See people don't lie.

WAHT?? trhis makes no sense at all, or im reading it totally wrong
80 inches x 80 inches and 7 inches deep(only194 gallons)? or 80 feet by 80 feet and 7 feet deep
where the heck you getting 200 gal??
and the only way you could keep a cuda is if you literally have 20,000 plus gallons! AND the cuda gets higher in mass than 7 inches!
PLEASE correct me if im wrong but this was a crazy statemnt if i read it right??

Yes, that is a crazy statement and I personally do not even think barracuda's should be kept in 20,000 gallon tanks. That still might be a bit small in the long run. Ophiura has said that she has worked with some in 40,000 gallon tanks and still has experienced the cuda's getting messed up by running into the glass and such because the tank was not big enough.

Yes it was a crazy statement. I think I should have put some smilies in there. Didn't think that would be taken seriously.
But the fish would physically fit if it was 78 inches long, and it would be able to turn around!! So all your barracuda dreams can come true.
I don't know, are they so great a fish that they are worth keeping?

Barracudas are also somewhat skittish fish. Keeping them in an aquarium would probably stress them out quite a bit.
In addition to the other obvious issues...
