Bad information?

I was having problems with some of my test results. My PH was at 5.5 and I didnt know why. I was told by a good friend of mine that in order to raise the PH I should add regular distilled vinegar--about 1 cup per 10 gallons...so I did! Guess what? Dont EVER do that! Everything in my reef tank died within a matter of minutes! I lost over 15 different corals and all my fish as well as the stars were floating in the tank. I am just sick about it and thought I should warn others not to add as much vinegar as I did. I guess we learn from out mistakes!

LOL reeferkeeper !
Pretty good one, had me going for a second.
I was thinking I was going to have to hop in my car, grab a map, take a drive up Michigan way, and smack you with an empty bottle of vinegar !
But ......... looks like I get to stay home tonight :p
April Fools Day - fall for it every time.

The sad thing is, we wouldn't have fallen for it if people weren't told crazy mess like that all the time, usually by someone at a LFS.
