Only a head though with no previous signs of aggression? Thats a bit odd. Do you see any other probs like nipped fins or anything like that? No need to chalk it up to violence just yet, but it is a possibility.

Yep. How long did you have the tusk? It could just be acclimation, but an aggressive trigger can kill a much bigger fish just by nipping and stress. Once a fish is in trouble, triggers sure will finish the job. IMO, that lion will be a chew toy for the CT soon. Then, who knows? You have way too many large fish (or fish that will get large, if they survive) in a 125. If you could measure stress levels; your tank would be off the scale.

I agree, with all the statements. Harlequin's do not usually acclimate very well.

I've heard that about harlequins. I suspect that the Australian variety does much better than the IO. (DUH!) SWF.C has great fish; but they have a pic of an Aussie HT and sell the IO, I'm 99.9% sure. The result of the picture contest. Small HTs are impossible to find and the fish that are available are big, meaty, active fish. A 5" HT is a lot more wrasse than a 5" pinkface wrasse. I've bought 4 over the past several years (lost 2 in Katrina, have 2 now). I've had excellent success with these fish. I suspect many buyers (from online sources) often don't realize what a big
fish they're getting and then QT in a small tank; really making acclimation very tough.

clown trig was gone along time ago (remember!!!) no signs of aggression no torn fins or anything the only thing i can think of is my eel bit off a little more then he can chew he's 28in. lg and 2 1/2 in. round i've had the harly 4 8 mo.

I might have something positive to say if it was a positive situation. But its not . While I might not have the ammount of experiance that a few others around her do . I would not say I am pretty new to the game .

I honestly very vaguely remember you. You fall into a group of people that I loose track of quickly . Once you start mentioning CT's or other such fish in a (community style) Aggressive tank I pretty much loose the desire to help out . Especially after being verbally attacked for trying to help out . I looked at your profile to see what you had listed and you still had a CT on it .
Maybe next time to cut the confusion try updating your profile . Give a current stock list including sizes , as well as describe what kind of attitude your fish have had, Any changes in your peramiters and any additions or changes to the tank .
Then maybe you will be less likely to get a wise mouth comment . Also an atempt at punctuation and taking the time to spell the words to ,too, two, for, Is going to help out rather than using 2 and 4 in there place . But this is just my opinion .

If you don't have anything helpful to contribute, then there is no need to post "wise mouth comments" (your words, not mine). There are plenty of people that could use some help, or plenty of topics to post to.
Then, to jest at someone's spelling and punctuation when your own is just as bad, if not worse, is incredibly hypocritical.

OP had you seen any other signs of aggression before? Nipped fins or anything like that? If not, chances are something else weakened the HTF first and thats what you need to find out.

also i was due 4 a water change but i was only 2 days behind schedule

Must be a huge lion, if you've had the HT for 8 months and the lion is 3X as big. HTs are seldom sold under 3 1/2" -4" . Was he eating well & growing?
