Bak-Pak 2 not collecting anymore.

For some reason my Bak-Pak 2 isn't collect anything anymore. I also run a Aqua-Clear 70 (it has foam, nitrex, carbon, ceramic rings, and some filter floss). My Bak-Pak used to work but now for some reason doesn't. The PH works and takes in water and make bubbles (less than it used to) but the bubbles for some reason don't go into the collection cup's column like they used to. What could be the problem? Also how am I supposed to clean deep down inside my skimmer and should I continue to you the "bio-media"? Thanks.

Your asirline hose is probably clogged i'd replace it. Also check out this thread CLICK ME! its a simple mod to improve your skimmers performance and you don't have to worry about the rio burning about and losing some of your livestock possibly.:D

Link doesn't work for me either.
To clean inside my bakpak, i use on of the long handle algae scrubbers. You still can't get it all, but it reaches further than i can with my hand, if you come up with anything better, keep me posted.

my friend just had the same problem....he just took apart each skimmer and cleaned the propeller blades and hoses...give it a try...might fix your prob as well.

I agree...could be your airline. You need to take that off and make sure it is not partially clogged. When I had a bak pak I had to clean the air tubing monthly.

If all the maintainance suggestions here don't correct your problem, then you can always do what I did. I connected a $5 air pump to the air intake of the skimmer. I actually had to put a valve on the airpump because it was skimming TOO efficiently.
ps- I have a skimmer from Aquarium Systems. ($53)

Can you give me a pic of your set up mudplayerx? Where did you get your air pump and can you give me the product name like"Maxi-Jet 600"?
P.S.
I use my small Mag-float to clean it. It gets most of it.
