baking soda

my ph flucatues at times..can i use baking soda to bring up to 8.2 sometimes it goes down to 7.8..not much but at times.just want to use a safe product in it..did my water change this am..ph at 7.8 now was 8.0--

pH can fluctuate but 7.8 is a bit low.
What is your Alk (KH)?
I would use proper buffer raher than baking soda.

baking soda can do the job, but do not ask how much or so on.
It definitely is much safer to go with a regular ph buffer. and can more easily be measured, since the prescription is on the package.
