I have a bamboo shark egg, that should be hatching in about a month. I have a 75G and 55g. In my 75, i have a small niger, clarkii, yellow tang, and snowflake eel. Will my fish leave the shark alone or should i move the niger to my 55? I just set up my 55 2 weeks ago and there are no fish in just some crabs and 2 starfish. any suggestions will help.

the trigger will pick at the shark until it kills it so get him out of there def.
im sure you know but the shark will only be alright in that 75 gallon for less than a year
also starfish need great water quality and a well established tank and you have them in a 2 week old tank?? not soo sure if their gunna make it but i hope so. what kind of stars are they?
where do you live in p.a? and what kind of shark is it?

One of the main questions should be...what size tank are you planning on upgrading to, to care for this shark, since both tanks you currently have are not even close to the size you'd need to house it.

Just to get it out there, so you know it...
A 125 - 150 is still not sufficient for the long term care of this particular species.
They will max out at 38" - 40". You may not see them move much, during the day, but at dawn, dusk and nightime hours, they are extremely active fish.

i would say at least a 250 to 300 on up gallon tank to house one comfortably and happily for the rest of its life if it was coral catshark 180 on up would be ok.

i have a 300 gallon for my grey bamboo and he only gets 28" max and im STILL building a 500 for my fish this summer, you have a shark thast going to get 40 inches+ you should reconsider having this egg befroe it hatches.
also i hopr you know you may have to tube feed this shark when it hatches to get him ot eat you can just let hi m int he tank hoping one day he will eat.. Ask unleashed i beleive she had to tube feed her baby shark

The largest species of Bamboo Sharks, that you'll find, are Chiloscyllium plagiosum, which will max out around 36" - 38" for males (females a few inches longer) and Chiloscyllium punctatum, which tops out at around 40".
*On a side note, unleashed...I'm still waiting for that ballast that you were supposed to mail to me. I've tried getting in touch with you on AIM and through email and have recieved no responce...and, no ballast.*

Wait a second wait a second! You built your 210 awhile back. Then you built a 300 recently. Now your building a 500? Why? Why did you even build the 300 if you were going to build the 500.

accually i hand fed mine i placed my hands right up to its mouth with food so he would eat it.i felt he would do best in a smaller area when very hong for easier feeding .his first set up was my refuce to my 120 reef the refuce was 48x12x18 smaller housing but still much more water flow than a tank of those demesions would allow so it worked well for the time he was in it. now he comes to me for food .
