i figured that but i went to this lfs across town and they had one in a 75 gallon. I told him shouldnt he get a bigger tank for it but he said it would be fine i just had to get another opinion

he said it would be fine cause it takes 5 sec for him to take it out of a 75 and put it in a 100 the 150 then 200 as it grows but for us reg ppl who buy a tank for a fish. that wont work.

I assume you mean a bamboo shark ? As a small pup you could keep it for a FEW months in a 75 . But long term you would need a tank in the 300+ gallon ranger with a foot print in the area of 8'x4' . Even that's debatable .
Now a coral catshark does not get as big and you could more than likely keep one in a 180.

A 75 gallon would be ok for a few months , to get the shark to eat . But long term it should be housed in a very large tank in the 500 gallon range .
