Banded Cat Shark?

I bought a Banded cat shark a couple of days ago and he is doing fine. He's about 6" long and he eats krill and squid so far. What else should I try to feed him and also how often? All of the pics of them I've seen on here have lighter bands. Mine are black, do they lightin up as they age?

Yes, they do lighten up into a tan/brown color. Some adults even lose there bands completely. Feeding every 2-3 days is fine. Besides squid and krill you could try silversides, octo, shrimp, etc. Any meaty seafood should be fine.

Do you have any critters in your tank (i.e shrimp, crabs, snails, etc.)? I am getting one of those guys but Im curious if they will live harmoniously with any cleanup-critters

They'll probably try to eat shrimps and crabs and stuff, but I have snails in my tank andthey dont bother them much.

I've got 4 large hermits in with my sharks. I feed them first shrimp pellets. Before I feed the sharks. I just added some 3" snails to take care of some algee on the glass.
