Banded Coral Shrimp. Is this for real?

Went to my local LFS yesterday (Privately owned) and saw this:

Take a close look. It looks like theres thin stolkes where his pincers used to be. Is he molting or is there something wrong here? I'd like to know before my tank is ready to stock and I buy anything from him. He said he's never seen it before either and it's in his display tank.

That looks like an unsuccessful molt to me. It can be caused by excess Iodine, malnourishment, or severe stress. Also note the broken antenna, another sign of the above.

Yeah, something isn't quite right with that guy. My thought, since it's in the LFS is that shipping stressed it out.
