Hubby came home with one today, he is very large, about 6 inches. will he eat any of my small fish? He is scarey looking! Any idea what they eat, please tell me not my other fish! I looked him up on this web site and the discription says they are a great addition to any reef tank, but I am still leery :notsure: When we put him in the tank he tried to get under the rock my green emerald staked out and the crab actually attacked the goby. Never saw this behavior before. Was getting this fish a mistake?

The banded watchman gobys max size is about 6 inches, so it wont get any bigger then what you've got. They are omnivores and accept a broad range of foods. It will rarely become aggressive with fish but may become territorial, they will also fight with it's own unless they are a mated pair. I wouldn't worry about it eating your fish, but it may eat small invertebrates.
