Bang Guy . . What makes a lagoon tank

I see that you have a lagoon tank.
What is that and how does it differ from a reef tank?

It's a HUGE lagoon (pond) he made in his basement. The water is shallow and he has a lot of light over it.
You look down on it like you would at the beach.

I am thinking that it would be like a huge tide pool almost?
How many gallons is it?

He had a series of posts on here a while back about building it. Not sure if its still on. But I believe its 900 gals.
