What have you been feeding it?
Has it shown any signs of disease or stress?

Mine took almost a week to start eating. Just keep offering him meaty foods and add the garlic maybe. Now mine eats everything I put in my tank. If you go over a week you may want to add some pods. I hear they are nocturnal and hunt for pods and things a night.

I started feeding my pair when the moonlights kicked on resembling night time . I started with live brine shrimp with vitamin and garlic mixed in . Then slowly added frozen brine and mysis to the live and eventually got to just frozen and even started eating flake . These fish are nocturnal and I always feed them at night , except the past few days I tried during day and working so far .

No good suggestions, but my cardinal is the most picky fish in my tank.
He'll eat miasis and the home-made food I made (shrimp/oyster/clam/garlicxtreme).

Tried live brine soaked in garlic at night with just moon light still no luck I am inclined to think it is going to die of starvation

Ive heard of success stories with this product from SEACHEM!
Entice™ is an all natural scent and flavor enhancer for finicky eaters. Simply soak any food item in Entice™ to attract the interest of finicky eaters. Ideal for all marine and freshwater fish.

Well my bangaii did not make it, I went to my lfs today and told him of my problem he said that he make sure all his fish are eating when he sells them and that he would split the cost of another one if I would like, well I am kind of stuck on bangaiis so I did just that and he showed me this little glutton eating like craze well he is in my QT and I feed him very lightly and he eat it with gusto so I guess it was just the luck of the draw we have to deal with in our hobby but thanks people for being there for me
