I have a 125 gallon tank - will 4-6 banggai cardinal fish get along with one another?
Thanks

yep I believe they can be kept in groups but Bang Guy would be the expert on them. He breeds them. You should PM him if you want in depth info about the fish.
Sorry I just realized you can't Pm yet...hopefully he will chime in then...

Yes they are a schooling fish and prefer to be kept with others, although I have one (others died) and he is doing fine. In my expereince these fish are sensitive to acclimation so make sure you do a good drip method. I love the way 5-6 of them look kinda hovering in the water.

In my experience Banggai should be kept as a single or a male/female pair in a six foot tank.

banggai cardinals are only schooling fish when young, however, when one male reaches maturity it will kill off its male competitors.
So i would recommend only 1 pair in a tank that size. if you start w/ 6 you'll most likely end up w 1 pair and one or two cowering loners.
