i cant blame him.
being pro-bonds, its a shame to see that it has come to this.
that somebody not-baseball related is going to graffiti a piece of baseball history. i wouldnt want to see or be near that, either.
its funny- in hockey, you score goals, and they give you the puck used to break or set a record.
in football, the give that that ball.
in basketball, they also give you that ball.
not in the mlb.
i think that the ball should go back to barry, and let him decide what he wants to do with it. go to the hall, or up on his mantle.

And none of those sports you listed has the ball going into the area where the fans are. You're a moron. I hope that does keep Bonds out of the Hall of Fame. I'd be ashamed to walk my child through there and have to explain why they let a cheater into this sacred place.

Agent-X....not sure I would resort to name calling when we are only making our personal opinions on the matter.

Or up his arse where it'll fit just nicely. Way to go Barry. Nice way to make friends in Coopertown Baseball HOF.

What Barry Bonds stated in the article was that if they put his last homerun ball into the Hall with an asterick (as the guy who bought it on the

[hr]
stated he would do when he gave the ball to the HOF), he would not attend HIS induction if in fact he did get inducted to the HOF. The guy is just sticking to his guns that he wasn't 'juiced' when he made all his HR's. I wouldn't show up either if they thought my record was just a farce.

I agree with you, I too would feel disrespected if I were him. He worked hard for that record... and they haven't done anything to anyone else.... McGuire... and all the others who people say have done steroids or illegal drugs. Drugs have a long history in MLB with "greenies..etc" . Bonds is also atleast a 3 Time MVP (it may be more like 4-5... I can't remember)

Worked hard to earn it !??! Yeah he did - by using steroids. Sorry - Bonds will always be known as a player with a HR record being on steroids.

no doubt that he is a good hitter. not trying to argue with that but he diffinatly had something to help his power.
*edit* like i said he was a great hitter but without the steroids he is exactly that, just another great hitter

No arguing that steroids do not make a baseball player. But they do help make an already great baseball player better. Would Barry have gone to the hall of fame without steroids? Yes, I believe so. Would he have broken the alltime hr record? No, I don't think so. No doubting his ability to hit the ball solidly, but steroids increase muscle mass which will increase bat speed. Not only does this lead to more power but also his ability to watch the ball longer before starting his swing. This gives him a better chance to hit the ball with the fat part of the bat. HGH can also lead to an increase in vision helping him pick up the spin on the ball. Many people attribute Ted Williams' high OBP due to his excellent vision, that occured in only 1 out some-odd thousands of people. However, steroids or not, Barry is the most patient hitter I have seen. He does not swing at a bad pitch.

So I finally read the article you were talking about. And I don't blame him one bit. If they sit there and judge the guy without ANY smoking gun proof. Then I'd say

[hr]
em too. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty.
There isn't any proof that he did it, just a bunch of crooks trying to drag down someone with him, and a druggy named jose that just is soo ticked because he got blackballed.

Actually, I think that some of the jury member from his trial illegally leaked information that he said he did not knowingly take steroids. Much like Gary Sheffield claimed. I don't really remember the specifics because I was really tired of hearing about at this point.

FOLKS:
This topic has been on this board over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, and not ONCE has it been productive. It gets ugly, heated, and nasty time and time again.
Watch the language (including abbreviations, different spelling, etc)
Watch the tone.
And frankly, I'm inclined to say "get over it." People love or hate the guy, and that is the end of the story.

This is like a Hatfield and McCoy thing!

actually he admitted to useing the product in question however denied that he knew it was a steroid. I am reminded of a someone who smoked pot but didn't inhale. Doesn't it seem odd to anyone (including bonds) that this miracle cream made him bigger in his later years than he ever was back in the day when he was with the pirates? (but it's not a steroid) Yes he was a good ball player, I remember as a kid wanting to play beside him and bonillia (spelling?) in pittsburgh. With his attitude twords his fans and the press (even before this all came about) I have lost all respect for him and i am glad they are giving him an astrix. I think he should feel lucky to be given the record at all.
