base rock to live rock

ok i have about 20 lbs of base rock in my tank. I just bought 1 pound and 11 oz of lr today. how long will it take to seed the base rock?
can i use purple up now to jump start the process?

1 lbs of lr is not much. I would do 50/50 at minimum. The time it takes for base rock to become depends on how much lr you have and what your calcium levels is. Not a good idea to buffer your tank with anything unless you know what the levels are for which you are buffering.

I think they mean in will take forever for the coraline to season your base rock.
