Base Rock ???

As of now I have my new Reef tank up and running. What I need to know is what rock if any can use from my FOWLR tank it's been running for about ten years and has a number of diffrent kinds of rock, such as Lava,Coral,that White rock that you get at the LFS thats full of holes,and two small chunks of live rock. what would be ok to put into the new tank?

completly cured live rock
base rock (lr jsut with nothing live ing on)
dead corals (which is what base rock is)

So what you are saying is that all the rock including the Lava Rock is ok to put into the new tank Right !

no. the stuff i mentioned above is safe.
some people claim lava rock will seep out minerals into your tank. i pwersonaly have a piece in both of mine. my reef has some mushrooms and gsp growing off of one. I have seen no effects. but apparently some will, i guess jsut not all

No lava rock it is full minerals that will come out.

If I were you I would buy a bunch of cheap base rock from the LFS and put it in the tank. Then, use a couple pieces of live rock from your other tank to seed the rock. Cheaper, and having more rock would help stabilize your FOWLR a bit more.
