Absolutely. Look at different lfs's and online. You want pourous base if you can find it. Base shouldn't cost more that $3/lb. If you can find porous base, then add 70-80lbs on the bottom and the rest live. If all that is available is the stuff that looks like slightly porous cynder blocks,then less base and more live. Here is a pic of base that I got for $1.99/lb. It was cured with LR.
