Base Rock

Hi Everyone,
I want to stock my tank up with some rock and looking to save some bucks. Alot of people talk about Base Rock, but I can't find answers to the following questions.
What makes good base rock?
Where do I get it?
What is a good ratio of Base Rock to Live Rock?

base rocks r rocks that arent live. this site prohibites me to gv u what website to where to buy them. google it "reef rocks". i bougth 120 ibs of base rocks from a website 3 month ago for $140. not bad bc shipping was included. after about 3-4 weeks of baserocks mixing w liverocks, the base rocks will be live. as for the ratio, its up to u. i'd say 50/50 or less if u want to save a few bucks.

You could also check with your LFS. Mine sells base rock as reef rock and it's around $2/lb. It's basically white and looks a lot like Fiji live rock.
