Base Rock

I'm slowly getting everything set up and love the look of coquina rock. I was wondering if it was possible to use it as my base rock. Since its mainly made from crushed sea shells, i thought it would look awesome in my tank. Also since i live in Florida its really easy to come by.

"Because coquina often includes a component of phosphate, it is sometimes mined for use as fertilizer."
I would be very cautious and would not use till proven ok to do so...

I don't think I'd take the risk. If you like the look of it, you could always make your own rock to make it look as close to that as possible.
