Baseball politicing is getting interesting

So last night was the first night a WS game got suspended due to rain. And they almost had the poo hit the fan. (as I was unaware a the time and thought it was going to hit the fan) Back in the day 2 years ago has this happened. Technically if a game is called in the middle of an inning, after the game is official then they revert back to the end of the previous inning and that is the game folks. So when they pulled the tarp on the field after the top of the 6th, i though oh no, they are going to wipe the run and that is going to be the series. Then fire is going to rain down from heaven this is going to be ugly.
Fortunately They changed the rule so they just resume play from that point if the game is tied and it is an official game.
But today bud said even if they had not scored they would have just suspended the game. Big talk, he'd be killed in philly if the rays end up winning the series...

now how does this work? original ticket holders can access and view the game again? what if the ticket stub was lost, or damaged by the rain?
doesnt the game have to continute in philly? will they postpone any further games in tampa until they can finish this in philly? its supposed to rain here like, all week.
interesting, but stupid. they should have finished the game yesterday. baseball players are weak.

According to the guys on FOX last night, if the Tampa run hadn't scored and the tarp was pulled, the game was over. The tying run kept the game from ending.
I think they realized that to end the world series on a called game would have been aweful, especially if your a Rays fan and have watched this team all thru the season.

Technically yes, but selig said he would have just suspended the game anyway. a couple years ago, if this happened the rules stated they would have reverted back to the end of the last inning and the game would be over. That would have been really interesting.

If you lost your WS ticket stub you don't deserve to get back in. and yes, everything will probably get pushed back.

Selig said he would have arbitrarily said it had to be played to completion

No joke it was pretty rough. But you do have to remember he was in the 40 degree driving rain too. Personally when I called baseball the zone got ALOT bigger when there were bad conditions.

As an outside on this who doesn't think its worth staying up for, I couldn't believe when I woke up this morning and saw that they'd postponed it.
First good call Selig's made in awhile. Unlike the umps, who seem to be trying to justify instant replay right now.
