Basket Starfish ?

I recomend you refrain from purchasing one. They are extremely difficult to keep healthy. I believe they are filter feeders, and need large amounts plankton to survive.
Good luck.

basket starfish are a cold water invertebrate. I saw several of these while diving in the cold cold waters of alaska this summer...great looking specimen but practically impossible to keep in a home aquarium.

At one time I had a great pic of one saved(somebody posted it on this site)...they are possible to keep but very difficult. The few I've heard of have been in rather large systems. Great looking starfish but not on my list of likely additions.

I beleive this is the picture you are reffering to.

Anyways...cool specimen but definately not mean t for a hobbyist tank.

tonyhawk do a search for sterling, he had one and housed it for a short time and gave to a zoo. Anyways there should be some info on it there, but I agree with what was already said.
