Got back from my trip to mexico this morning. Went snorkeling everyday, and scuba diving once. It was amazing, the corals, fans, and fish were so cool to see in the natural setting.
I will post a few underwater pics soon when they are developed.

flyinbrian,
What resort on the Riviera Maya? My wife and I stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar for our honeymoon this past summer. We also took a day trip to snorkel in caves and also on the reef near Cozumel. Like you said, there is nothing like seeing marine life in its natural setting.

I make a trip to Cozumel every year and so do many other divers. The reason being it is the best place in the caribbean to dive. The reefs are huge the marine life is huge and the people are very freindly. If you have only been there on an excursion or on a cruise you should really plan a trip to stay on the island for at least a week in order to enjoy every thing the island has to offer.

You just can't go wrong with it. That's why I got into SW aquariums. After I moved from the beach and got landlocked, I went through withdrawel. I have worked my way up to Search and Rescue diver certification.
It's a whole other world down there. Beats the hell out of the one up here. :D

I love the peaceful sound of nothing in the depths. When you look up at the surface of rippled water it is amazing. When coming above the water, your ears work again, and I hated that.
