Beckett skimmer and Ventilation questions?

1. On a MRC beckett skimmer, better to use 1" tubing to the 3/4" beckett fitting or use 3/4" tubing??
2. Ventilation in a fish room: I was thinking of installing a temp controlled 12-18" exhaust fan pushing air outside; or would a stand-alone or wall unit AC with dehumidifier work better?

1) probably best to ask Andy that question. I talk to him a lot via e-mail, he gets back within 24hrs or less..
2) although I don't use or need both I would suggest both. I have a 10" fan sucking fresh water in and use a bath room exhaust fan to suck air outdoors. If you use a dehumidifier you'll want to plumb it to drain outdoors. Chris said his picks up about 3 gals a day...

One nice thing about living in Southern Utah is that the relative humidity is so low, there is no need to dehumidify, the air here is about as good a dehumidifier as you can get... LMAO
