i don't think its worth the hassle of hypoing ALL new fish if they do not show signs of ick within the first three weeks. HAVING to keep a 1.009 is a lot harder than being able to let your water evaporate out of the tank and possibly go from 1.025 to 1.026

I do agree to that to an extent, but there is still a chance that ich could be present after 3 weeks of regular salinity, and it could still end up in a DT. Especially since the hippo I bought was in it's own QT at the LFS for over a month, they held it for me special, and it still brought ich into the tank. After experiencing what I did, personally, I'd prefer to hypo all incoming fish. It is tough to do, and could have potential problems, but if something goes wrong, I'd rather loose the one new fish than all of my other fish.
