ok, I had a trate level ~15ppm, and now I’m geeking out BUT!!! I started a de-nitrator and added some sponge (which can cause a spike), then lower over time...but I’ve been drinking all day so cut me some slack JACK(s)!...
anyway, I started my denitrator +1 week ago...1 drop/2 sec...so I’m not "doing it too fast"...fact of the matter is that the ate level was 15 to begin with, so I added it to be proactive
but my trats were at 15 to start with(a weeks ago)... so i added sponge just to saveme on salt(jewish much?) and i was drinking that day too..come on u know what I mean. I wanted it to be 0, but the next day after boozen it was like +25..."that all I needed at 6am"
anyway
after 2 weeks of 20% water changes, and testing 2 times a day with controls(having samples of water from the last test) I've come to the conclusion that my test kit is hosed...it's 3 years old...yes that's an easy excuse. but it's chemicals. as long as the instructions are followed every time...they should be "Lower" mannnnnnn I did 3 20% changes everyday for the past 4 days and the "level" has remained the same....time for a new test kit? Yes, I want to sleep better, thanks guys...
give me a yea dude sleep, and talk it out tomorrow!

The reagents in test kits have a shelf life, they do go bad after a while. Check out Salifert kits, one the best.
