I just got into the hobby myself and would heartily recommend picking up a copy of "The Consciencious Marine Aquarist" before you buy anything. I didn't and really wish I had. I am reading it now and wishing I had done some things different. Good Luck!

dont put any tang in there also welcome to the boards!
tangs need a 75= gallon minimum (arguable) though for the members of the tang police like myself this is the minimum and most tangs need larger

i would suggest getting some good MH halide lights for coral. 2 mated pairs of onyx clowns would look good in a 21g tank. u will need to buy a heater. get a good one not that cheap one i have. btw, hes my friend irl and wants to get started. im trying to help him out as best as i can trying to tell him no no no with lionfish in a 21g :) help him out!

DITTO!
The rule of thumb is that you never over crowd your tank, and that you take in fish that are compatible with the setup. Spend some time in our NANO Forum. That is the forum for small tanks and how best to set up. Also, get a copy of that book. Excellent for beginning hobbyists.
