Beginner Corals

For my new reef, I have already planned to get ricordias and mushroom corals. I will have PC lights, 1 white and 1 actinic...what other corals would be good and hardy for a beginner with those kinds of lights? It's only a 30 gallon nano reef, but I would still like a little bit of a variety without overloading the tank.

well i have a 65 gallon tank with 2 96 watt pcs on it and i have a good varitys of corals in it i have 2 frogspawns that have always done great a very hardy elegance, tons of mushrooms a colt a devils finger leather a yello gorgonian 2 brain corals but one is not doin to good , a very nice green bubble . it all depends on placement of corals and water current, so if you buy something make sure you reasearch it before you waste money.

I've got 96 watts of light in my 29 gallon tank. Besides mushrooms I've got xenias and zoanthids.

How would this group of corals do:
mushrooms
ricordea
toadstool
sea mats
button polyps
Are there any of the above that you would recommend me to stay away from? Or would they all be fine for a first try at a reef?

Looks like a good list to me.

Looks like a great list....good variety. You may investigate into the leathers a little further. There is great variety among the different species with regards to color, shape, and size. They also will thrive under PC lighting with good water quality. I wish you luck. I think you'll soon find yourself wishing that 29g was a 290gallon
