beginner with 29 gallon aquarium

Hello, I have been given a 29 gallon aquarium as a gift that I plan to set up in my TV room. My sister gave me this aquarium and the problem is that it is a south facing room with a triple window on one wall. The wall I plan to put the aquarium on is right under a skylight. There are two skylights in the room. The room I plan to use it in is probably the brightest room in the house. I have no other place in the house to enjoy this aquarium.
My sister is a master at salt water aquariums and recently purchased two larger aquariums and no longer needs the 29 gallon. I feel blessed to be given such a nice aquarium, equipped with everything needed to start up but am concerned that I will have nothing but pea soup in this room. I am concerned that this aquarium would be doomed to fail.
Any advice would be appreciated. I don't want to set this aquarium up ( I plan to go salt water) and have nothing but trouble with it. :nervous:

If you are worried about the sunlight hurting your tank it will depend on how severe it is and how many hours a day it will be shining on it. Put your tank in the spot you want, unfilled and see how long the sun hits it. If it is for a significant amount of time you may want to reconsider, or find a way to block the sunlight so it wont overheat your tank. HTH.
