I bought that book when it first came out, read the first 10 or 20 pages. absolutely atrocious. there's no way I'd see that movie, even if it was free. I imagine it will be a straight to Sci-fi channel movie, because I don't believe anyone will pay to see it at the theater.

I belive it was already on the Sci-fi channel a while back. Maybe close to a year ago or so . But it could have been some other megalodon movie who knows . Personaly I think these movies are junk and just trying to get a piece of the JAWS pie. If you want to see sharks then watch discovery channel.

here's how the book started off (and this is NOT a joke): two tyrannosaurus rex's are fighting each other on the shore of some ocean. somehow, one of the t-rex's knocks the other t-rex into the water. and miraculously, this t-rex was knocked far enough in the water to be eaten by a 65 foot shark. the story then comes back to present day. completely lame. the whole point being that the greatest land predator was no match for the greatest water predator. of course, most people realize that in the dinosaur times, t-rex was far from the biggest, baddest predactor. the moron that wrote "Meg" was just writing a badly written fantasy.
Sci-Fi channel is where this movie belongs because Sci-Fi is a channel that exists for laughably bad movies.

no, those movies are something else.
i think that you are thinking of the movies "shark attack" 1, 2, 3, 4
those are really bad movies- so bad that they are actually entertaining.
for most of the footage of what should be a megladon, they use shots of a GW
sheesh
